SNOW IR — Operational Handbook
Cryospheric Digital Twin for the Chenab River Basin.
Operational early-warning platform for GLOFs, avalanches, and anomalous snowmelt across the Chenab basin (Lahaul–Spiti → Akhnoor).
This is the canonical engineering handbook for SNOW IR v1.0. The platform treats the Chenab basin as a real operational responsibility, not a demonstration. Every architectural choice is justified against an explicit risk, an explicit metric, or an explicit user decision.
Mission
Provide defensible, auditable, and timely intelligence to disaster management authorities, hydropower operators, and downstream populations.
Hazard Classes
- GLOF — Glacial Lake Outburst Floods (0–72 h)
- AVALANCHE — Snow avalanches (0–72 h)
- RUNOFF — Anomalous snowmelt runoff (0–10 d)
